[Salon] Karim Khan ousted as prosecutor of the International Criminal Court

FM: John Whitbeck

As reported in the GUARDIAN article at the link transmitted below, the Trump regime has succeeded in bribing or threatening a majority of the 125 member states of the International Criminal Court, which it has recently declared its intention to "dismantle" (https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/2026/07/state-department-launches-campaign-to-dismantle-international-criminal-courts-threat-to-american-sovereignty), into punishing Prosecutor Karim Khan for successfully seeking an arrest warrant for Donald Trump's Israeli puppet-master and for threatening to seek arrest warrants for other Israeli war criminals (https://www.solidarity.co.nz/international-stories/sex-crimes-karim-khan).

Clearly, definitively crushing any semblance of international law is far more important to the Trump regime than sustaining the ICC is to most of its member states, and it would now take enormous courage for anyone to agree to become the ICC prosecutor, knowing that properly performing this job would ensure life-changing punishment of the sort already imposed by one of the world's two leading outlaw states on prior prosecutors and judges and their families.
